#15 Leopard Spots Pour

Welcome to Day 15 of our 100 Days 100 Designs challenge! Today, we’re excited to share our latest creation – the “Leopard Spots Pour,” featuring a unique and intricate pattern created with Jesmonite AC100.

Materials Used:

1. Four 4-inch round trinket silicone moulds

2. Pen (for drawing spots)

3. Jesmonite AC100

4. Jesmonite Pigments: Black, Red, Green, White

5. Empty sauce bottle with a pointed tip (or candy stick)

6. 2000 grit sandpaper

7. Haksons Beeswax Sealant

Step-by-Step Process:

 

1. Drawing the Spots:

We started by taking four 4-inch round trinket silicone moulds and drawing leopard spots with a pen as we wanted them.

2. Detailing the Spots:

Next, we mixed Jesmonite AC100 with black pigment and poured it into an empty sauce bottle with a pointed tip. We used this to detail over the drawn lines. (A candy stick can also be used for this step.) This process takes time, so patience is key.

3. Creating the Base Colors:

Once the black spots cured, we mixed four different colors of Jesmonite: white pigment with less than a drop of red, green, black, and plain white.

4. Pouring the Base Colors:

We poured these colors over the cured black spots, filling the moulds.

5. Sanding and Finishing:

After curing, we used 2000 grit sandpaper to sand off the pen marks. This also gave the pieces a shine. Finally, we sealed the trinkets with Haksons Beeswax Sealant.
